To qualify as a successful salesperson, either for new, pre-owned or Internet sales, you must average five vehicle sales per month and establish the goals combined with excellent customer service in order to accomplish that. You must be able to listen carefully the customer and be able to fully explain the performance value of the car, the application process, and benefits of the vehicle.
Service advisors will greet customers upon their arrival and write up any problems a customer brings in his or her vehicle for on the Initial Write Up Process. This person will schedule service appointments by computer, reserve rental vehicles if necessary, notify the service manager with “Five Star” moment by fellow employees, and inspect the vehicles on whether to suggest additional service, if necessary. The employee should regularly check on the vehicle if it has to be kept more than a day and keep the customer fully updated on what the status of their service or repair is.
Service techs supervise and verify repair work, diagnoses problems based on customer complaints and inspection, document the work done for the customer, perform road tests for the repaired car, and inspect the vehicle to see if other repairs need to be recommended.
For the service manager, this person will forecast goals and objectives for the department, as well as hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all the Service Department team members. This manager also prepares and administers an operating budget, attends manager’s meetings, has the team operate harmoniously, develops and implements marketing plans, and understands the federal, state, and local regulations for service departments.
